There is nothing like watching kids play baseball in the summertime. There is a freedom to the game and the surroundings that always makes me feel like this could one of the best days of my life.

Groves
I love looking for vibrant colors in my photography. It can be especially striking when seen through a long lens such as the one I shot this photo with. This photo was taken with the Nikon 70-300mm f4.5-5.6 lens. It completely blurred the background from about fifty feet away creating this warm green cloud behind the subject.

Big League Play
It is really something to see your child go from being a toddler to really displaying coordinated skill. Here is a photo of Jordan making a sliding stop at shortstop for his AA baseball team. He popped up out of the slide and made a throw to first base which was not caught by that baseman but everyone, including me marveled at Jordan’s play. While we do talk about sports I thought he was too young for serious instruction. I just wanted him to enjoy playing. But this play made me realize just how gifted he might be. He shows an instinct that you just don’t see in a lot of seven year olds. That’s my boy!
Dustin Pedroia Swings
I took Jordan to his first major league game today. Our seats were so close to the field that when I took photos it felt like I was on the field. This is Jordan’s favorite Red Sox player, Dustin Pedroia.
Henry and Glove
I took this shot at one of my son’s T-ball games. Henry was waiting to return to the field and he was cradling his glove like it was his last friend in the world. His blue eyes were a perfect compliment to the blue in the helmet and the blue of his team jersey.
